Most people booking a corporate headshot have either never had one done professionally, or had an experience that left them stiff, uncomfortable, and unhappy with the result. Neither is a great starting point.

Here is what actually happens when you book a headshot session in Mackay with me.

Before you arrive

The most common concern I hear is some version of "I don't photograph well." Usually followed by a question about which side of their face looks better.

The honest answer is that almost everyone photographs better than they expect. The difference between a bad headshot and a good one is rarely the subject. It is the lighting, the direction, and whether the person in front of the camera feels relaxed or like they are about to be sentenced.

My job is to handle the first two so you can handle the third.

On-location or in studio

Sessions are available at your Mackay office or in a studio setup. Neither is better by default. It depends on your brand.

On-location works well for teams. It keeps disruption low, the background reflects your workplace, and you are not asking a group of people to drive somewhere. I bring the lighting. You supply the space.

Studio works better when you want a clean, controlled result with no environmental variables. Consistent backgrounds across a team, regardless of what your office looks like that day.

Most clients in Mackay go on-location. We can talk through what suits you before booking.

How a session runs

Individual sessions are short. Most people are done in 15 to 20 minutes. That includes setup, a few test frames to dial in the lighting, and the actual shoot.

I will direct you. Where to look, how to stand, small adjustments that make a genuine difference to the result. You do not need to know what you are doing. That is what I am there for.

The session is casual. There is no countdown, no "say cheese," no holding a pose until it becomes uncomfortable. I am looking for something natural, not a performance.

"I want the photo to look like you on a good day. Not like you trying to look like someone else."

Retouching

Every delivered image includes minor retouching. Skin smoothing where needed, any distracting blemishes removed, colour corrected and exposure balanced.

I keep it natural. The goal is a polished version of you, not an unrecognisable one. If a client receives their headshot and their colleagues do not recognise them, the retouching has gone too far.

What you receive

  • High-resolution files for print (annual reports, media, signage)
  • Web-optimised files for LinkedIn, websites and email signatures
  • Delivered via your online gallery within 48 to 72 hours

For teams

Team headshot sessions are scheduled efficiently so your workday is not swallowed by the shoot. I work through staff in order, keep each session moving, and deliver a consistent look across the full team regardless of how many people are involved.

Consistency matters. A team page where every headshot was lit and processed differently looks like it was assembled from three different companies. The goal is one cohesive set.
